Friday 11th January 2019 - Friday 15th February 2019
Location: Oxhey Woods,
Cost: £60 per child for 6 sessions or £12 per session (booked in advance)
Bring your children down to Oxhey Woods for fun at Forest School.
Parents/carers join in with the session, as children are introduced to the wonders of the forest through play, song, story telling, craft and practical skills.
What will happen in the session?
Sessions are 1.5 hours long and are run by two qualified Level 3 Forest School practitioners, beginning with a welcome song. We will play games to build children's confidence and familiarity with the forest setting. Each session will be planned around a theme, delivered by the Forest School leaders and will also include craft, lessons about nature and a hot drink and a snack.
Why choose Parent and Toddler Forest School sessions?
The benefits for children (and adults) of Forest School are numerous and include:
Positive benefits of the natural environment include lower blood pressure and reduced stress levels.
Excellent for developing gross motor skills and core strength (climbing and walking on uneven terrain).
Craft activities are designed to develop fine motor skills, which is essential for developing the strength for handwriting.
Provides a unique opportunity to connect with your child without the distractions of screens, gadgets and the pressures and demands of daily life.
Increases self confidence and self esteem in children.
Helps children develop social skills and emotional intelligence.
And above all else, it is very good fun!
What to wear?
At Forever Green Forest School, we believe that there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes! Sessions will take place in most weathers, so come prepared wearing lots of layers, waterproof coats and trousers, warm hats, scarves and gloves and some waterproof wellies or walking boots.
Where to meet?
There is a main car park in Oxhey Woods near the start of the sculpture trail, which is where we will meet you before heading off into the woods.
